Drake

Aubrey Graham or better known by the stage name “Drake” is a rapper from Toronto, Canada. Drake started of as an actor on Degrassi: The Next Generation. After a while of acting, he had lost love for acting and became more in touch with music. So back in 2006, he began to release a series of mixtapes, with the skill of being able to rap and sing.  After a year of putting out mixtapes, a song he made called “Replacement Girl” began to get major exposure and the video was placed on 106 & Park as joint of the day. Even though he had a hot single out that didn’t stop his grind. He continued to release a series of mixtapes and being featured on many of remixes. Drake was defiantly the most talked about unsigned artist at that time. He would later release a single that took his career in a way different path and putting him on top of the charts. He released the single “Best I Ever Had” which debut at #2 on Billboards Hot R&B/ Hip Hop Charts. After the release of “Best I Ever Had” Drake’s phone would not stop ringing, labels were calling him left and right. He would make a decision to sign to Universal Motown in the late summer of ’09 to release an EP called “So Far Gone” made up of his most popular songs. So Far Gone Peaked at #6 on U.S. Billboard 200 and won him the Juno award for Rap Recording of the year in 2010. That same year Drake would go on to sign to Lil’ Wayne’s label Young Money Entertainment. That same year Drake released the album “Thank Me Later” which debut at #1 on the U.S. Billboard 200 and has been certified as platinum and sold over 447,000 copies it’s first week in stores . From then on Drake has released two more albums “Take Care” which also debut at #1 on the U.S. Billboard and  “Nothing Was The Same”.  He also made a label with his good friend and producer Noah “40” Shebib which represents Octobers Very Own. He also played in the movie Ice Age 4: The Continental Drift along with Nicki Minaj. Drake to me is an artist that is a one of kind and can’t wait to see what’s his next move.

Onika Maraj or better known by the stage name Nicki Minaj is a rapper from Trinidad the Port of Spain. As a child, she moved to Queen, New York with her mother. Growing up her ideals where female rappers Lil Kim, Foxy Brown. She had began rapping in her teenage years, all thanks to social media she was discovered on myspace and was signed to Dirty Money Entertainment due to a freestyle that was heard. She was featured on a Dvd magazine called, The Come Up Dvd in which she was feature on the 11^th one. After a while she had dropped from her then label Dirty Money Entertainment and was now in a bidding war where she was discovered by Lil Wayne and signed to his new label then Young Money Entertainment. After signing with Young Money, she immediately began working on her debut album. Her album “Pink Friday” debut at # 2 on the Billboard 200 and sold 375,000 copies its first week in stories. Nicki does a lot more than just music , she also has her own perfume called “Pink Friday” and “Minajesty”.  Nicki also has her own clothing line called “Nicki Minaj”. Nicki Minaj has also stared in a two movies called “The Other Women” and the animated popular film “Ice Age: The Continental Drift”. She is currently working on an new album titled “Pink Print” which has no release date but will be coming to you soon.

T.i.

Clifford Harris Jr. or better known by the stage name T.i. also know as “The King Of The South” is an rapper, record producer, from Atlanta, Georgia.  T.i. or T.i.p made his debut into the music industry with his first album “I’m serious”, which didn’t give him the buzz he expected. The album only sold 5,000 copies its first week in stories.  T.i. then signed to the label Arista Records had dropped from the label by the lack of promotion and formed his own label Grand Hustle Records. From then on T.i. had begun to tour on his own dime doing shows all over Atlanta. After releasing a series of mixtapes he was then signed to Atlantic Records where he release the album “Trap Muzik” which debut at #4 on the Charts and had sold 109,000 copies its first week in stores.  From then T.i. has been through many Trail and Tribulations by him losing his bestfriend Phillant Johnson in Cincinnati, Oh due to gunfire. Due to death threats, T.i. had purchased many weapons which, when had landed him in jail for a year and a half by him beinf a convicted felon and having non-registered guns. From on T.i. has moved on with his life from that devasting period of his life and released an album back in 2011 called “Trouble Man: Heavy is the Head which debut at #2 on Billboard 200 selling 179,000 copies its first week of sell. T.i. does more than just music, he also had a tv show called Ti & Tiny’s Family Hustle, he had also written a book called Trouble and Triumph. He is currently working on his 9^th studio album, which has no release date at the moment but there are new singles would such as a song called “Wit Me” Featuring Lil Wayne and another song called “Turn it” which is promotion for his upcoming album “Paperwork: The Motion Picture”

Robert Williams or better known by the stage name Meek Mill is an rapper from Philadelphia, Pennsylvia.  In 2006, he began flooding the streets of Philly with mixtapes which was very popular in the Philadelphia clubs. Within a few years he would get a deal from Warner Brother Records and the king of South’s own “T.i.”  Grand Hustle Records, but would never get a chance to due to incarceration. That would not stop his drive, after being released he began to make to flood the streets with mixtape which had caught the attention of rapper “Rick Ross”. Mill signed a deal with Ross’s label Maybach Music Group and appeared on the group first album “Self Made Vol. 1” with his single “Ima Boss” which debut at #51 on the charts. In 2012, released his debut album “Dreams & Nighmares” which debut at #2 on the charts selling 165,000 copies its first week in stores. He currently is working on his second album “Dreams Worth More Than Money” which is due to be released sometime this year.
